I discovered a love for fluid art painting in 2020 and create all my artwork in 'Flo Wight Shedquarters' at the bottom of my garden on the Isle of Wight. It's not big, it's not heated(!) but it's mine.<\/p>
Using unique colour palettes, I started to create fresh and original pieces which can bring any living space to life and fill a room with energy and light. I quickly realised however that this form of paint pouring created a lot of 'waste' paint as it dripped over the edges of my canvas panels so I started to use this to make unique pieces of jewellery - wearable art - which I set within sustainable stainless steel findings. As I investigated sustainable products, my interest was peaked and the next stage in Flo Wight's journey began.<\/p>
A mere 20 minute drive away from my home on the Isle of Wight is Teemill. What makes Teemill special is that each of its products is made so that it can be sent back to Teemill when it is worn out or the customer is done using it so that it can be made into new products. So much of what is produced in our modern-day is just destined to sit in a landfill. Teemill has focused on creating a circular approach to this by being able to recycle any product that they make back into something new again.<\/p>
Another key factor for me is to make on-demand manufacturing the norm for a planet with finite resources - printing only what is required as and when an order is placed and Teemill champion this. I strongly believe in community not competition so to partner with this local business is just perfect for Flo Wight.<\/p>
When I'm not at work, being with my family or throwing paint around, I enjoy running and walking on the beach and often take creative inspiration from the coastline and greenery around me. I'm also known amongst my close circle of friends for loving a good pun so you may see some of this in my designs too!<\/p>
